Very의 활용, 처음 강조

The very first time we met was at the job orientation. We were the very first ones to arrive and I remember thinking that he looked kind of familiar. It was the very next day that we officialy met. He introduced himself as Harry and it was that very moment that I realized why he looked so familiar. I had seen him on the news a couple of times.

>> 우리가 가장 처음 만난 건 Job-오리엔테이션 에서였어. 우리가 가장 먼저 도착했는데 그때 그를 보면서 낯이 좀 익다고 생각했던게 기억이 나. 우리가 공식적으로 만난 건 그 바로 다음 날이었어. 그는 자신을 Harry라고 소개했는데 바로 그 순간 왜 그렇게 낯이 익었는지 알겠더라고. 뉴스에서 몇 번 봤었어.

 

처음이라는 것을 강조할 때 very를 쓴다.

• I was at the very front/end of the line.
  >> 내가 줄 맨 앞/뒤에 있었어.
• At the very beginning/end (of)
  >> (영화나 책 같은 이야기에서) 맨 처음/마지막에

1. I remember thinking that~: ~라고 생각했던 게 기억이 나
2. He introduced himself as~: 그가 ~라고 자기를 소개했어. (이름/직업 등)
