Q1) Do Korean people like drinking?

[Ans] I think Korean people like to drink alcohol. Actually, people don't tend to think alcohol is dangerous, and don't care about drinking a lot of alcohol. If you visit Korea, you may see the poster which beautiful actress advertises Soju which is a kind of Korean alcohol. But disgusting pictures are printed on the cover of cigarette. I think it's a problem of my country.

Q2) Do some Koreans play games with their friends in the gathering?

[Ans] It's different from case by case. we usually play games when all friends are man. for example, we like to go a to computer room to play online games, or play footballs in the soccer field. but when some friends are woman, we rarely play this kinds of games. we just talk and drink alcohol in the cafe or pub. 

 

Q3) Do you have a memory about a holiday as a child? Is it a happy or a sad memory? Whom did you spend that day with?

[Ans] Actually it's hard to remember the memory of my childhood. But I remember that I went to Everland with my family. You know? It's most popular amusement park in Korea. Anyway, I enjoyed to watch animals in the zoo, and took rides such as roller coaster, biking and so on. It was very funny experience for me. 

 

Q4) Tell me about some important holidays in Korea and what people do during those holidays.

[Ans] There are two important holidays in Korea. One is 설날, Lunar New Year's Day and the other is 추석, Korean Thanksgiving Day. Korean people visit parent's home, so big family have gathering. We usually ate 떡국 which is Korean traditional rice soup, and 송편 which is Korean traditional rice cake. And we talk about how are they doing these days.

 

Q5) On national holidays, do Koreans still follow Korean traditions or do they spend their time traveling or relaxing?

[Ans] Some people still follow Korean traditions. They wear Korean traditional clothes 한복, and do the memorial service. But most people just spend their time. Big family have gathering in parent's home, eat Korean food, talk about how are they doing, and play Yoot, which is Korean traditional board game.

 

Q6) Talk about a holiday from your childhood. What do you remember doing? Who was involved? What made it special? Tell me everything about that holiday.

[Ans] I remember the Korean traditional holidays when I was childhood. Big family had gathered in grandparent's home which was located in the countryside. It was special for me because I could see the country stuff. All family prepared food, and had a meal together. After eating food, grandchild like me made a deep bow to grandparent, then grandparent gave us money gifts. I was really happy that time. Anyway, there was crowded with many people, but I felt happy in that home. It was happy memory to me.
