Let's talk about when you were really late for an appointment with your friend.

Q1) How late were you?

[Ans] I was supposed to pick up my girlfriend with my car after I finished my work. But I was late 30 minutes. and it was rainy day.

*Be supposed to: ~하기로 되어 있다.

 

Q2) Why were you late?

[Ans] I got a traffic jam because it was rainy day.

 

Q3) Was your friend angry? How did he/she feel?

[Ans] Yea, though I told her I might be late due to traffic jam when I finished my work, she got angry a little because she had no choice but wait me on the rainy street. Also, she came to near my company by public transportation. So I understood why she got angry.

*Have no choice but: ~할 수 밖에 없다.

 

Q4) What did you do to make your friend feel better?

[Ans] I said I am really sorry, and I went to have a nice meal right away. So she relieved her feelings after dinner.

[Ans] Can we meet one hour late? Or if you don't want to, we can meet tomorrow. Or, if you don't want both of them, why don't we meet at the middle? Then it will take about 30 minutes.

[Ans] Hi, This is CJ. Um… I am sorry to tell you bad news. I think I will late for our appointment 1 hour because I missed my train to Busan just now. I was watching a YouTube Video and lost track of time. I am really sorry. Can we meet 1 hour late? Oh, you are still home now? It's a good thing. So, let's meet 1 hour late at Busan Station.
